Connector TV Follow Friday: James Vincent McMorrow

Submitted by on January 21, 2011 – 12:00 pmNo Comment

James Vincent McMorrow is a name we won’t forget soon. He has really captured great attention in 2010 with the release of his “Early In The Morning” EP. People are raving about him. Well I do too now. I listened to the song “If I had a boat” and was immediately won over. Penetrative and mythical vocals and harmonies, with beautiful melodies and down to earth instruments. His songs go right through your soul and from that point tells you the story and you just feel it. Here is the song “This old dark machine”.

Oddly, I never heard of him before although he made it to number 1 on iTunes Ireland last year. I discovered him because he was nominated in the newly launch Digital Socket Awards “Album of the year”. You might think “Oh no, not another award show” This one is really different as all nominations were made by the public, voted and judged by Irish music bloggers. The winners will be announced on February 3rd in Grand Social‘s loft venue. It should be a great night. Buy your tickets here.
