This Sunday we meet Donna McGee on Merrion Square. She is a full-time artist living in south county Dublin. She has always loved painting and is largely self-taught. She has developed a unique style, encompassing a diverse range of influences.

Her work has often been recognized for its subtle atmospheres and hidden depths which engage the viewer.

Skylines; rugged coastlines; setting suns and moon-lit harbors provide her with constant inspiration. These restless elemental forces that shape the Irish landscape cast a spiritual energy. Donna strives to capture this essence and celebrate its timeless beauty in her work.

Donna also likes to explore the abstract world. Employing the creative use of palette knives, applying mixed media to create rich textures, results in an emotional response to the raw energy in her work.

Donna exhibits in selected galleries and group exhibitions in Ireland. Her work is represented by many public and private collections both in Ireland and abroad.
